Caroline Casey is an award-winning social entrepreneur, Ashoka Fellow, and founder of business inclusion company, Binc. She was diagnosed with ocular albinism as a child, which makes her registered blind.
Caroline was not aware of the severity of her condition until her 17th birthday and she hid her disability from the world until 2001. At that point she quit her job at Accenture and trekked across India on elephant back for c. 1,000km, raising money for The National Council for the Blind of Ireland and Sightsavers.
Caroline has founded a number of social enterprises, including ‘Kanchi’ which aimed to change perceptions of disability, creating The Ability Awards, a business methodology building and recognising best practice in business disability inclusion. Since taking the life-changing decision at 28 to leave her career in management consulting, Caroline has worked relentlessly to bring out a global shift in business inclusion, and ensure that everyone can live their life without limit or labels.
Caroline is a TED speaker and Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. Caroline is an activist, campaigning for inclusivity across the globe.
